Tommy's Birthday Weekend

Tommy turned 10! I made him his favorite breakfast of lemon muffins and Jingles decorated all of his dinosaurs for him.  He had one of his best friends, Charlie, over after school and we went to Applebee's with Grandma & Grandpa Van Sickle, and Aunt Aunt Amber's family.  After Applebee's we came to our house for cake, ice cream, and more play time.  Then, the next morning we went to the cabin to play in the snow.  Everyone had a great time!

Tommy at 10: Tommy is very competitive and always trying to do his best.   He has a big heart and is very thoughtful of others.  He loves to play Pokemon cards, Minecraft, & Chess.  He is very much a daddy's boy.  Vic is often the only one that can console him when he is upset.  Tommy is very responsible and gets up every morning at 6 to do his chores and practice the piano.  He loves being on the swim team and running.

Tommy's 9th Birthday Party

Tommy was introduced to Pokemon last fall and has been obsessed ever since.  He quickly learned all the main characters and all of their power, moves, etc.  He wanted a Pokemon party & I wanted something simple so he got a Pokemon cake at a Parkour place.  The kids got lessons in the beginning and then got free time.  We set up an obstacle course for them to try to time themselves on and they really liked that.  Boys are so competitive! His best friend fell down near the beginning and broke his collar bone.  We felt so bad!!  Tommy made a whole new group of friends this last year.  His new friends are all in the GT (gifted & talented) program together.  It's great because they have the nerdiest smart kid jokes and they all love them.  It makes us so happy that he has made a good group of friends.

Tommy's Baptism Day

Tommy was really excited for his baptism day.  We had a great turn out with 6 of Vic's siblings.  We did a winter wonderland theme with lunch from Cafe Rio for everyone.  Afterwards we treated everyone to iJump as well.  It landed on Vic's birthday weekend so we took half of the crowd up to the cabin to celebrate Vic's birthday on Sunday & Monday.

 It was a beautiful day in January!  Tommy was outside bare foot playing catch!

 Before we ran up to the cabin, we went to Tommy's favorite restaurant... McDonald's!

Tommy chose to get baptized into the LDS church so I did a photo shoot of him last fall for the occasion.  He looks so grown up!

Tommy's 8th Birthday

Tommy turned 8!  We decorated his door and put a giant poster on it that had the top 8 reasons why we loved him.  He made us keep the poster up for almost a year!

 We let Tommy pick a few friends to have a play date with on his birthday and he picked Jackson B., Maddex, & Kayden.

 Tommy begged for a paddle board all summer and then was shocked when he got one on his birthday!  I was kind of sad not to buy him a single toy this year.  Just last year he wanted dinosaur toy everything.  This year he wanted all books and was SO pleased with what he got.

 He was a little bummed he didn't have a lake to go play on his new toy with, but the kids did a great job of make believe!

 We went to dinner with Amber and her kids.  I think it's cute that Tommy says his cousin Sam is his best friend in the whole world.
