September Happenings

September we were busy settling back into a schedule.  I started working a lot more as a favor for a girl wanting extra time off after her baby.  It sure made everything extra crazy!  The first couple of weeks of school I made fun snacks for the kids every day after school.

The day that I decided to stop, the kids weren't having it!  Here is what Whitney made for herself.
And here is what Tommy made for himself!
The second weekend in September we split up. Vic took the boys camping and hiking.

...and I took Whitney shopping and we made jewelry together.  The kids love "mommy and daddy dates"!
Vic was on a city baseball team again this year.  They did pretty good this year!  Vic usually played catcher or 1st base.  I am bias, but I thought he did great!
I can say I was a little disappointed that he never pulled out a home run for me though!  He is such a fast runner that he usually snuck an extra base in off of every hit.
My mom took the kids to the cabin for some grand kid fun.  We thought we'd go on a date, but instead we spent the weekend putting up a fence around one of our properties.  Here are our helpers helping us get ready for it!

I also found time to teach Whitney to ride without training wheels.  We've attempted several times and she wanted nothing to do with it, but I finally got her too after much crying and pouting!

Labor Day Weekend in Utah

For Labor Day weekend we went down to Utah to squeeze in one last trip to the swim parks.  We met up with the Frosts for Friday and Saturday (and didn't take any pictures!).
After church on Sunday we went hiking in Cottonwood Canyon again.  It started out nice and sunny and then a big storm cloud came in at the end!  We met up with Vic's brother, Jesse's family.

I had fun trying out my new camera.

This hike had a good variety of trees and rocks
The kids decided to climb up the rocks instead of going on the switch backs and it was harder than they thought.  We beat them to the top!
We saw the beginning of the fall leaves changing colors. I love fall colors!
When we got to the top there was really strong winds and it got cold fast!
Tucker found a nice little hole to hide in the wind to eat his lunch.

Whitney made fast friends with Jacob, especially because he was willing to carry her!
That night we had fun playing games in the hotel lobby and then we went to Seven Peaks the next day.  This is the only picture I got at the end of the day.  It was a fun weekend!
