May Happenings

May was complete busy madness.  We had all of the kids sports going on, we were trying to finish our remodel, Vic's parents and brother Jesse came for a visit, we did our Arizona trip, had my brother Jason come visit, went out to see my dad, AND did activities around town!

The kids are obsessed with Pokemon right now and lucky for them, Pokemon Detective Pikachu came out in theaters.  I hate paying for the expensive theater, but they were too excited to wait for it to go to the cheap theaters so I took them on a mom date and surprised them with a pack of Pikachu Detective special edition Pokemon cards.

Tommy & Whitney both had mini dates with Grandma & Grandpa Van Sickle and this month it was Tucker's turn for a big date.  He chose to go golfing and get ice cream.  We're so lucky the kids have such good grandparents!
 Tommy got braces!

I helped host all of the end of the year parties.  I did so much volunteering in all 3 classrooms this year that it burned me out!

Whitney discovered hair chalk and requested special hair do's for the last week of school.
It finally got slightly warm (around 70 degrees) and Tucker and Whitney threw on their swimsuits and were ready to swim in the backyard!  Crazy kids are sooo ready for summer!
Our city replaced 2 playgrounds this last year so we went to play on those.  There was quite a line every time we went.
Jason came to visit so we went on a mini hike with him up at Heise and then let the kids hit a bucket of golf balls, and had pizza.  It was a fun day!

Kid Sports Mania

May is always the busiest month of the year for us because all of the kid's sports are coming to an end.  Tommy was playing basketball, we were coaching Tucker & Whitney's basketball team, Whitney had an end of year program for gymnastics, everyone continued with piano lessons, the kids had end of year school programs AND parties, and Whitney had a million recitals for her singing group.

Phoenix Kid Time

I wanted to do something fun for the kids to love our vacation so I planned a food buffet every day because the kids go nuts for them!  We also went to the Phoenix Zoo.  Unfortunately, we picked the hottest day of the week to go, but luckily they had lots of shaded stopping points.  The kids loved all the million sculptures to climb and pose with.

The kids were obsessed with playing Pokemon Go on this trip because big cities have Poke stops everywhere!
