March Happenings

March we finished swim lessons, visited Twin Falls, tried to teach the kids to ice skate, & went to Arches for Spring Break.  St. Patrick's Day was the first day of spring break so we stopped to celebrate it with the Frosts down in Utah.

Goblin Valley: Day 6,7 Moab trip

My mom talked us into going to Goblin Valley for 2 more days and we were driving out to the middle of no where with no other cars in sight so we were worried and thinking we should have just turned around and gone home, but  we LOVED Goblin Valley!  It was a giant maze full of climbing.  The kids were tired of hiking down a trail and this was the perfect way to end our trip.  We explored all day long without the kids complaining once!

Arches Day 5: Delicate Arch

On our final day in Arches it was COLD!  We probably would have skipped hiking that day, but we hadn't seen the famous delicate arch so we pushed through & got it done in an hour with rain & wind blowing in our face!  The kids had been working on their junior ranger packet all week & were proud to be able to earn their badge at the end.  Mark had been stingy with the heat and electricity in the RV all week and I was tired of being cold and uncomfortable so we did an unplanned hotel stay in Moab.  We didn't have internet service so we drove up to the Hilton, made sure they had an indoor pool, and checked in.  We all took long hot showers and felt like new people!  I talked Amber & my mom into driving down to eat dinner at the hotel and go swimming with us.  They also took turns having a long hot shower while the kids watched cartoons together.  It was money well spent!!

Arches Day 4: Fiery Furnace

On day 1 we went to the visitor center to get a permit for the fiery furnace and there was no openings until Day 4.  It was nice, we didn't see anyone while in the maze!  We did get really lost one time & Vic went adventuring to try to find the way and found himself way up a difficult area.  It is crazy how few markers they have in there for you to find your way out of the maze!  The kids had a blast climbing all over everything.  We started at 12 and didn't get done until 4 in the afternoon!
At the end of the day, we got a family picture in our campground.
