The Nutcracker Ballet

I LOVED growing up and being in the Nutcracker Ballet every year so I couldn't wait to put all 3 kids in the ballet this year.  Whitney was a princess and little bonbon/mademoiselle and Tommy and Tucker were party boys.  Whitney's favorite costume was her yellow one and Tommy & Tucker did it for the ice cream bribes I promised them!  They ended up liking it in the end though.  Tommy even got one of his friends from school to do it with him.  Unfortunately, I did not like how the owner handled several different situations so this was our first and last year at this studio.

Vic and I were so happy to have such a supportive crowd for our kiddos!

August Happenings

The first week of August we were up in Island Park then the rest of August we tried to squeeze the last out of summer.  We played in the backyard pool, painted our nails, Whitney continued to talk Tucker into dressing up like a girl, we helped my mom move the last of her stuff out of the family cabin (and got some play time in as well!).  My dad took us out on his new fishing boat.  The kids loved being on a speed boat, especially Whitney.  Tucker conquered doing a 360 on the knee board and the other kids didn't want a 6 year old to outdo them so they kept trying until they got it as well.

We got new glasses for Tommy which I like way better than the last pair!  Then, school started!  The kids look way too grown up.  I had after school special snacks waiting for the kids each day.  They love that tradition.

This year, I really wanted to get to know the girls in Whitney's class so she had a welcome tea party for all the girls in her class.  She was so excited to get her nails painted for the occasion.  Tommy loves showing off his piano skills whenever he can so he played background music for the party & Tucker joined right in for the treats.  I had hoped the girls would have a nice tea party & then have one with their dolls, but instead they went nuts in the backyard.  It was pretty chaotic!

Whitney's Baptism & Party

We were on vacation both May and June when Whitney was supposed to get baptized so she got a summer birthday party.  Her theme was "I like to look for rainbows" from the song "When I am baptized.  I made lots of cute posters and they all had a unicorn name that they went by during the party.  Whitney insisted her unicorn name be "Candy Sparkle".  She thought that sounded like the most beautiful name because of her ongoing obsession with candy!!  I knew that not very many of Vic's family would be able to come so I let Whitney invite friends to a water party.  With all of her friends and her hyper cousins, it was a bit of madness!  I made a table of snacks mostly for decoration, but they were gone in minutes!  We tried to play a few games I had planned, but the kids were so crazy that we gave up and let them just run crazy.
