Cabin Vacation

We love the cabin so much we decided to make a week vacation of it this year.  Vic bought a mini trampoline for the end of the dock that the kids loved jumping on or off of.
Everyone had a good laugh at my failed back flip.  The trampoline moves all around when you try to jump off so it's a lot harder than it looks! (I guess I don't mind being the "butt" of people's laugh!)

Evan came up the first weekend and played with the kids a bunch.
Whitney was like a little princess on her new unicorn float.
It got a hole on the first day and now after seeing a series of pictures like this, I think I know why!
We had a lovely stuffie birthday party in the tree house we built last fall.  The kids love having an extra area all to themselves.
On Sunday we went to church and then hiked around Big Springs afterward.

We bought a new fridge and our friends delivered it for us and played on the lake before they left.
We also put in a new floor in the bathroom this week too.

We tried to go hiking first thing in the morning at Harriman State Park and got rained out.  It was sprinkling when we left and started pouring rain about a half mile into it. Luckily it was still following the road so Vic could come rescue us!
We tried again around 4pm and had much better weather!
The wild flowers were in full bloom and beautiful!
We loved the flowers in the meadows, but this is also where there was CLOUDS of mosquitoes!
I was hiking along and noticed that this moment HAD to be captured! Whitney and Tommy were happily holding hands and all three kids looked so adorable with their stuffies coming out their backpacks.
Tucker was feeling left out of the picture so we posed with all 3... so cute!

It started sprinkling rain when we were up in the forest, we had no idea how much further, and it was starting to get late so we almost turned around at this point.
We made it to the view point!

We saw a deer on the way back down.
 ...and some giant mushrooms!
LOVE this picture!
Tucker's not about to be left out of pictures.

I was so proud of my munchkins, age 4,6,& 7.  Look at the map of where we hiked!
The rest of the week we relaxed around the cabin, played lots of games, read books, and played on the lake.

Saturday morning we had our annual 4th of July parade around Bill's Island.
The kids were excited to drive their new 4-wheelers in the parade.
They got lots of good candy!
The kids loved riding 4-wheelers on all of the trails.  I was surprised there wasn't very many people on the trails.
Amber's family got there later in the day and we had fun playing on the lake together.
On Sunday, the boys looked so cute in their matching ties, I had to get a picture!
We had a wonderful vacation!

June Happenings

June was busy as always.  The first week I was busy helping with all of the field days and end of school parties.
Tucker loved getting out so much with "the big kids".
I found this cute note in Tommy's backpack.  I love to hike and I'm always having to hype it up to get the kids excited so I thought it was extra cute that after his amazing first two months that he wanted to go hiking.
We started summer off with a work party at Heise.
Tommy was proud to be able to help with mowing the yard this summer.  I did all the edges and then let him do the inner part.
We had a crazy hail storm with some pretty big ice balls!
Vic got spoiled on Father's Day
Our kids have wild imaginations and the boys are so good at playing along with Whitney and her endless dress up games.
We went up to the cabin to get an early start on playing on the lake.

We bought a brand new jetski!  It is way better than the old one and we are so happy with it!

Whitney loves standing up in the tube.
It took the kids quite awhile before they would jump off the end of the slide instead of going down it.  Tommy was the first to attempt it and then Whitney did.  Tucker decided the slide was enough for him.
Tommy tried Whitney's standing up trick, but could never let go with both hands.
We need 3 adults to load the jetskis and only had 2 of us so Tommy got to drive by himself.  He was pretty proud.
 Proof I was there too!

This picture cracks me up.  Tucker is our little ambidextrous writer.  He writes his name and letters with the same skill level on both hands and often switches back and forth during coloring.  Today he decided to multi task and color at the same time!
 It's not camping without s'mores!
I was activity days leader and planned a daddy/daughter date for the girls so our family decided to have a full family date.

When all the girls arrived I sent them off to walk a mile around the park with their dad and complete 6 stations.  One of the stations was getting pictures with your dad.

Other stations were playing frisbee without dropping it 10 times, drawing each other, ball throwing contest, quiz time, & yoga posing stations.  Here is our yoga poses:

When everyone got back we had refreshments and a couple of races.
Here is the three legged race.  Vic tried to go to fast and made Tommy fall at the beginning...
Tucker and I did really good and placed around the top 3... there was a lot of chaos so not sure where!
Whitney got to go on another Daddy/Daughter date to the circus a few weeks later.

Vic and I were also busy coaching Tommy & Whitney's baseball team all June and Vic was on a team.  It was a BUSY month!
