Halloween

This year I decided to paint our pumpkins to match the characters that we dressed up as.  We were the 3 main minions from the new Minion movie.  I drew it free hand so I was very happy that they turned out pretty good!
I made this minion background to cover our car for the church trunk or treat.  Tucker was Bob (the baby minion that carried around a teddy bear). Tommy was Kevin, the tallest one and Whitney was Stuart, the one eyed one.  They had a lot of fun with it!
Grandma & Grandpa got involved again!  Mark was Dr. Nefario from Despicable Me, my mom was the caveman that the minions killed in the Minion movie, Vic was Gru, & I was Scarlet (from the new movie).
Here is all the kids that came to our Halloween party on Halloween.
Here is all of the adults that came dressed up... I guess I wasn't clear this year that all the adults were supposed to dress up too!
We all did a game to share.  Here is the mummy run.
Relay race to put a skeleton puzzle together
 Spooky snacks!
Here is my attempt at fancy this year.
Same dip as last year because it was yummy!
Destiny did bloody fingers & vampire teeth.
Mom did these mummy hot dogs.
Here is our group that went trick or treating with us.
Here is what people saw when these little cuties rang their doorbell!
 Sorting and trading the candies!

Halloween Happenings

Whitney & Tucker got to go up to the cabin with my mom & Aunt Pam so Tommy and I had a day all to ourselves.  We went to the pumpkin patch that is really close to our house.  He loved that they had minion picture guys everywhere since we decided to be the minions this year!
 train ride around the fields
 Hay maze
Silly boy loved feeding the chickens dead dried worms the best!

I also had a few girl's nights to do Halloween paintings or crafts.  I was quite proud of how my painting turned out!

Lana made these cute rice crispy treats for the kids.  They were quite impressed and kept asking me to make more.  I told them that was a special Grandma task!
I tried to do a lot of their after school snacks with a Halloween theme.
We've been trying to do every Sunday dinner at my mom's house and one of the weeks she surprised us with a Halloween spider dinner.
We also did lots of fun themed art.

We went to Boo at the Zoo to see the lights and wound up winning the best family costume contest so we got $25 to Papa Murphy's!

School Parties

Tommy had his first school carnival so we had to go see what that was all about!
There was a lot of the exact same games in all of the classrooms. Toss the pumpkin, toss, the witch hat, etc. The kids didn't seem to mind.  They liked getting sugared out!
I volunteered to do food so my Mom & Mark helped out with the doughnut stand, I did snow cones, & Vic did the mummy run.  Here is my spooky eyes for the night. (It was hard to get a picture of when I was smiling!)
Then we had a class party a week later that was much more fun!  Here is "don't eat Pete"

I was in charge of the food station and it has to be store made so we did vampire doughnuts.
...and the mom that did one of the games was late so I had to quickly split my station into two so I did food station, crafting, & shaving cream drawing!  I was too busy to enjoy Tommy much, but he had fun and that is what counts!
The school does a Kindergarten parade every year where the big kids come out and cheer loudly for the cute little guys.  None of the kindergartners seemed to have a clue what was going on. They all seemed a bit confused as to what was happening!
Tommy and his classmates.  Mrs. Jones is the witch.  She is a great teacher, we adore her!
Whitney had a party too, but I didn't help out at that one so I didn't get any pictures!  I thought it was funny that all of the girls in her class were princesses!  (She dressed up as Elsa for that party)

October Happenings

October was a crazy busy month!  Here is an update of our non-Halloween happenings!
We went with Whitney's preschool to tour a pizza restaurant and make their own pizza from scratch, even the dough!
Tucker was delighted to be included.  Tommy was happy for the pizza, but he'd done this field trip last year so not as exciting for him.
Whitney also had firemen come give her preschool a tour of their truck and teach them fire safety.
Whitney is so proud to have started to read and be able to sound out words with the BOB books!

We've had "Real Pirates" at our museum for months, but I waited until October to go along with the spooky Halloween theme.  I was worried it would be too many facts because nothing was hands on for kids, but the kids seemed to have really liked it.
 My cute pirates!

My dad took me on an airplane ride around south east Idaho & I loved it!!!
We started off by heading north right over his house.  Here is a picture of his house & fields.
and another one a bit closer of all his horse areas and many sheds!  It was fun to see it from above.
Right after that we followed the river a ways.  It was a beautiful morning and the light was mirroring off the river to make it look like a beautiful silver thread.
 I couldn't help not taking a selfie! :)
Here we are near Ashton Hill.
We went over Driggs and had a beautiful view of the Tetons!
It was kind of hard to hear over the headset, but Dad had lots of great stories about the places we were flying over.  That made it a lot more entertaining.  Below is a picture where his Grandpa lived?!  I need to get that story better & type it up!!
After that we were by Swan Valley & Wolverine Canyon.  It is amazing we have such beautiful places within 30 minutes of us!!!!
and then we ended the flight by flying right over my neighborhood!  That little arrow points to our house and the 3 greens around it is where we spend A LOT of our time!!
The next week we went out to Dad's house and surprised the kids with his new toy... Here is Tucker & Dad.  Dad was most excited to take Tommy out on his 4 wheeler, but Whitney & Tucker insisted they got their fair share too!  They all had a blast and if horses and tractors wasn't enough to put him at the top of the Grandpa list.... this made sure he stayed there, ha!  The simplicity of little kids!
 playing fetch in the field
 tree swing Grandpa made

Tucker has been working on potty training for quite awhile and finally filled up his chart so I took him on a date to the donut shop!
We both took time off work to go to Boise to fix up our house we've been renting the last 8 years. Vic put in this pretty wood floor and I repainted everywhere and cleaned.  It was an exhausting long week!  We then finally put it for sale for $20,000 less than we bought it for.  It hurt to do, but I am so glad to be done with it and I'm happy the market has finally increased to where it is now!
