Rigby Race

I got crazy out of shape the last 5 years so I decided to ease my way back into triathlons with 5K's.  I haven't ran one since high school so I was nervous to try one.  I told myself I'd be happy if I finished under 45 minutes so I was tickled pink when I was passing a lot of people and finished with 34 minutes!
They had a fun bounce house and climbing wall for the kids while they waited to start their race.
Here are my cute munchkins ready for to race.  They were in the last heat so Tommy was racing forward and passing people like crazy.  I videoed his race so I didn't get pictures of him.
Here is Whitney.  She is a fast little thing too!
Here is Tucker... I think he was the very last one to finish!  He was so tiny, but he was determined to finish every obstacle.
Since I didn't get pictures, I had the kids run the race again so I could get pictures of the 3 of them!

Our running finishers!  I'm so proud of all 4 of us!

Whitney's Birthday

Whitney had a super fancy party on the Saturday before her birthday so I didn't plan on doing much on her birthday, but Tommy could hardly stand that it was her real birthday so he went down to "the meadow"  (an empty lot) and picked her some flowers and picked out some special rocks for her. Whitney was so delighted that she insisted she go down too. They came back with plenty of flowers, dirt, and rocks!
While Tommy was at school I took Whitney and Tucker out to lunch at her favorite restaurant... McDonald's!
Then I let her buy her free toy with the birthday club coupon.
I needed to buy some groceries and Whitney has been begging for an Elsa bike...  I told her I'd buy her one as soon as she'd ride without training wheels, but she has no desire to take them off and I'm worried she'll grow out of her Elsa stage by time she rides a bike without training wheels so I broke down and bought her a bonus birthday gift!
We set up a little course for her to try out her new bike on.
She is very possessive of her treats and does not ever want to share so it melted my heart when I found her little stash of birthday treat bags to take to school and share with her friends.  She was very happy to find out that I'd already bought treats and she got to keep her party snacks after all  :) What a sweetie.  She has really started to change and be a sweet little girl.

Whitney's Princess Party!

I have been looking forward to doing a princess party for Whitney since the day she was born!  ...so of course I wanted to make it perfect!!!!   We did a Daddy-Daughter Princess Ball.
Here is our cute 5 year old!
Here is the scroll invite we sent out.

 The treat table
Her castle cake!  I made the cake and my mom made the fancy flowers and leaves to dress it up.
The "W" on front was to match the "W" she has on her bedroom wall.
I made these purely because they were cute, not thinking they'd get eaten, but the girls gobbled them up instantly!

Oreos has a strawberry creme out right now so that fit perfect!

Cotton candy and watermelon popcorn from our favorite popcorn store!
Whitney helped me add glitter to make the cups extra fancy. She also picked out those fancy plates.
I showed Tommy & Whitney how to do one fork and they happily decorated the rest.  They did good!
 Serving room all lit up!
Drop ceiling we made to set the mood!
This is the only picture I got of our giant streamer wall
...and another one at the font entrance.  The girls love running underneath it!
I didn't want to have to cover up our "Family" picture wall so I made us all royal for the day!
 Party Favor Table
Here is a frame for them to put the picture from our picture booth in.
...and here is me, my mom, and Princess Whitney ready for the ball!
The first thing our guests did when they arrived was get a picture with their daddy.
Here's a few really cute ones!!!

I messed up at the printers and didn't have time to go back so our frog looks a bit funny, but we had the girls put on lipstick and try to kiss the frog blind folded!
Next, we had the each girl pick which villain they wanted their dad to shoot.
...Mark set up a shooting game for them.  The dad's loved this part!
Cute action shot of McKenzie pointing to the right bad guy!
The dads checking out everyone's shots and deciding who did best.  Vic declared himself the winner and Brynlee's dad 2nd place so we gave the prize to Brynlee's dad!
Next I played hot potato, except with Snow White's poison apple and if they got caught with it they had to die and their dad had to come revive them with a kiss and in return they'd give their dad a hershey kiss! We also did a Daddy/daughter get to know each other quiz game while everyone ate refreshments.
After that, we had cake and ice cream... for the first time ever, we ran out of both!  I spaced the fact that Dads can eat way more than moms and little girls!
Birthday girl with her cake.  She LOVED it!

Finally, we had a "ball"!  Whitney got the first dance and showed off her moves with Vic
Then everyone joined in on the fun!  I even had a party dance light that went to the music :)
Grandpa was a good sport and danced the night away!
Whitney's best friend is also named Whitney.  Here they are dancing together... and a funny Brynlee in the background with her head on the ground.  She had all sorts of interesting moves!!!
Tommy was my date, but when I was busy taking pictures or refilling food, he happily danced away with his cousin Ivy.  She even let him lift her and swing her around!
 2 cute dads having fun!!
Me and the birthday girl dancing.
 Going wild!
Tucker mostly snacked all night, but when we asked him what his favorite part of the party was, he said the dancing part!
It got hot with all those dancing bodies so the girls had a break playing on our new swing set.
While we were out back Great Grandma snuck a dance in with Grandpa... SOoo sweet! :)  This will so be me when I'm 80!
 Me and my date.
Wild Princesses after a night of fun!
We let most the guests go home and then opened presents.  I didn't do it at the party because I didn't think dads would enjoy this part nor did I want to keep little girls out too late!  The party was SOOOOO much fun!  I'd love to do it more often if it wasn't so much work!!!
